How to obtain care or services

Now it is easier than ever to receive quick access to vision care without the difficulty of a form or paperwork.

Follow these convenient steps:

1. Consult your VSP benefits materials (available from your benefits representative) for a description of your vision plan coverage.
2. Call a VSP participating doctor to schedule an appointment and inform your doctor that you have VSP coverage.

   The VSP participating doctor will need the covered member's identification number (usually the Social Security number) and the organization that provides your vision care benefits (i.e., your employer, HMO, trust fund, etc.).

3. The participating doctor will then contact VSP to verify your benefits, plan coverage and to obtain authorization. If you are not eligible for benefits at that time, the doctor will communicate that information to you.
